Visa makes its way to 49ers practice jerseys
Several teams have already teamed up with sponsors to
put company logos on their jerseys and the 49ers are now one of those
teams. The 49ers and Visa have reached a deal today to feature Visa’slogo on the left shoulder of the jerseys. The patches will be white with the Visa logo in the middle. It measures 1.5″ x 2.5″.
“The
San Francisco 49ers and Visa have a longstanding partnership that has scored
big for both organizations,” said Andy Dolich, 49ers chief operating
officer. “Everyone knows that winning begins on the practice field.
Having a Visa partner with us on the jersey is a strong message of
teamwork.”
The 49ers have partnered with Visa since 1995, so I
guess it made sense to have Visa as their sponsor. Visa is the only
credit card that can be used for purchasing tickets and now, we are
reminded of that when we see the team on the practice field.
There are a handful of people, me being one of them, that are
not fans of having logos of companies of jerseys. Sure, these aren’t on
the jerseys that we see on the field, but it sure is annoying. But I do
understand that with the economy and branding, this was bound to
happen.
At least this isn’t something that will cause some conflict like Eli Manning.
