NBA Rumor Mill: Celtics Shopping Rondo & Allen, Rasheed a Cav & Bosh Wants Out of Toronto

Maybe we’re getting ahead of ourselves but it certainly appears that the Orlando Magic are out of their element in the NBA Finals. Yes, it was only one game but what a thorough dismantling it was. The MVN Outsiders, on the other hand, are right in their element when it comes to talking hoops, and we have some hot rumors this week. So get your postgame speech ready. We’re dropping rumors like dimes from Chris Paul.

Allen & Rondo Being Shopped By Celtics?

It looks like the reign of the Big Three in Beantown may be coming to an end. That’s what SI.com
is saying anyway. Ray Allen’s contract expires next season and the
Celtics look to be trying to invigorate their roster with some youth,
not exactly what Allen provides the team right now. The Celtics may be
worried that Allen’s age is catching up to him, a thought that seemed a
tad evident with how inconsistent he was in the NBA Playoffs this
season.

What’s more surprising is that the Celtics are reportedly willing to
trade Rajon Rondo along with Jesus Shuttlesworth if the right deal
comes along. What that deal could possibly be, I’m not sure. Would the
New Orleands Hornets be willing to give up Chris Paul and another
player for the two Celtics? It might make sense given how badly they
need to unload their salary. Only a player of that caliber, someone
like Dwyane Wade, would seem to be enough to make the move.

There has been a lot of chatter around the league that GM Danny Ainge
and Head Coach Doc Rivers are growing increasingly frustrated with
Rondo’s stubborn attitude and inconsistent energy level. This may
explain why the rising star, who looked phenomenal in the first round
of the Playoffs, is on the trading block. Now if they were willing to
trade for Chris Bosh and Jose Calderon, then move Bosh to center…
Nah, that would never happen. Right?

Rasheed Wallace Feeling Cavalier for 2009-2010 Season

The Cleveland Cavaliers have to make a move to appease King James, this much we know. Could Rasheed Wallace be the answer? SLAM Online thinks so. Their sources are reporting that the Cavaliers and Wallace are talking about a two-year deal worth $10 million per to get him out of Motown.

The idea is to have someone that can shut down Dwight Howard on the way to the NBA Finals next season. I’m not sure if Wallace is the man for the job but it would definitely be an upgrade on what they have right now, which is basically cream filling. The Stay-Puft marshmallow man should be the mascot for Cleveland right now.

It is also rumored that if the Wallace deal falls through that Zach Randolph could go to the Cavs in a sign and trade deal, opening the door for Blake Griffin to start next season in L.A. Now that would just make too much sense, which is why Donald Sterling won’t let it happen.

Bosh Ready to Bounce Out of Canada

This is going to come as a total surprise but Chris Bosh isn’t happy with playing in Toronto, or at least that is the impression one gets when he announced he won’t be signing a contract extension before 2010. The Olympic Gold Medal winner in Beijing is going to make sure and weigh his options, and who can blame him after the disappointing season the Raptors had last season.

I know this, the Raptors should try to trade Bosh as soon as possible. It beats the alternative of watching him walk out the front door with nothing in return. I don’t see any reason Bosh would stay in Toronto. He is never going to get the publicity he longs for if he stays up North. Does anybody in America really follow the Raptors, honestly?

On another note, the Raptors can change their team name any time they want now. It was an unbelievably shortsighted move to name them the Raptors. Yeah it was cute for a while right after Jurassic Park. But the name is as played out as a Nelly CD. Let’s move on to bigger and better things. Chris Bosh is. Sorry, but it’s true.
