NBA TV Airs First Fan Night Doubleheader with Rockets/Lakers Receiving Most Votes on NBA.com

NBA D-League Showcase Tips Off on NBA TV on Monday, Jan. 4

NBA TV will air its first ever Fan Night doubleheader on Tuesday, Jan. 5. The fans selected the Houston Rockets @ L.A. Lakers at 10:30 p.m. (ET), giving the Lakers four Fan Night appearances this season. Preceding that match-up will be the Orlando Magic @ Indiana Pacers at 7 p.m. (ET). The night’s coverage begins at 6:30 p.m. (ET) with host Rick Kamla and analyst Steve Smith; host Ernie Johnson and analysts Chris Webber and Kevin McHale take over coverage for the Rockets/Lakers game at 10 p.m. (ET).

The NBA D-League Showcase takes center stage with NBA TV airing seven live game broadcasts of the 2010 NBA Development League Showcase which tips off on Monday, Jan. 4 and runs through Thursday, Jan. 7. All NBA D-League Showcase games not featured on NBA TV will be available for fans to view for free on NBA.com/futurecast. The sixth annual NBA D-League Showcase will take place at Boise’s Qwest Arena, home of the Idaho Stampede, in Boise, Idaho, and will include all 16 NBA D-League teams each playing two games.

In addition to the Fan Night game, NBA TV will also feature live games on Saturday, Jan. 2 at 8:30 p.m. (ET) with the Oklahoma City Thunder @ Milwaukee Bucks, Sunday, Jan. 3 at 6 p.m. (ET) with the San Antonio Spurs @ Toronto Raptors, and Monday, Jan. 4 at 7:30 p.m. (ET) with the Atlanta Hawks @ Miami Heat.

Every Saturday at 1 p.m. (ET), NBA TV features a Euroleague Game of the Week. This Saturday, Jan. 3, the game will feature a match-up between Maccabi Tel Aviv with Maciej Lampe (formerly of the Suns, Hornets, Rockets) against CSKA Moscow whose roster includes former NBA players Trajan Langdon (Cavs), Viktor Khryapa (Blazers, Bulls) and Zoran Planinic (Nets).
